Temple of Health

Temple of Health

In Mind Body Medicine, the so called Temple of Health* is used for visualization. It shows how different factors and levels are connected with each other for a healthy life.

The base plate shows the central aspects for recommendations in Mind
Body Medicine. It includes physical and mental health, living mental health, life circumstances, personality and mindset. Mindfulness
mindfulness is seen as the basis here and can be supported by specific interventions but also in combination with other approaches.

The six pillars of the temple represent resources that can be strengthened through targeted  interventions. They include physical activity, nutrition, relaxation and breathing, sleep, complementary medical self care therapies and nature and the arts.

Ceiling: Here, Mind Body Medicine approaches support in particular the emotional regulation and cognitive processes.

Roof: The different levels of the temple influence our relationship to ourselves, to others and to digital tools.

Relaxation and breathing exercises are essential components for reducing stress and and strengthening mental health.

Mind Body Medicine & nature: The integration of nature in Mind Body Medicine means conscious contact (= nature contact) via one or more of our senses with an animate or inanimate, individual or collective element of nature. Not every contact with nature necessarily supports health and well-being. Mindfulness also plays an important role in contact with nature as part of the concept of Mind Body Medicine.
